Hi again!

Here we are in a bus station about to embark on a 13hr ride to Acapulco. Only 12 days to go, too, until we get home and switch from tacos to home cookin'!!
Lots has happened since we last wrote. We got lots of fun in on Baja - swimming in the sea of Cortes, kayaking, and a full day ferry to the mainland. There we stayed with friends of ours, family of my neighbour Raúl from Hull. They treated us like royalty, and I came out a few pounds heavier.
OK we've got to go, so hopefully the fine photograpy will make up for the lack of explanations.

Ciao ciao!

Mariscos = seafood. This joint is not for the faint of jaw, apparently.

¡Hola, y saludos desde México!

It's been quite awhile since we've last written on our beloved blog. The past few weeks have been busier than most, hopping from bikes to trains to subways to buses and back to bikes. We've made it to the land of cheap tacos and cheezy soap operas though, and that's as much a cause for celebration as any.

After leaving northern California we went through San Francisco (indeed, the "Golden" Gate bridge is rather orange, as Gran warned!) and on down the central Cali coast. There we stayed in an awesome beach shack in Pacific Grove, hiked up an extinct volcano in Morro Bay, and began the end of our American séjour by taking a train from San Luis Obispo to San Diego, with a short visit in LA. We then crossed the border into Tijuana and caught a midnight bus to Guerrero Negro, deep down on the Pacific coast of Baja. There we regained our strenth on tacos and more tacos before setting out on our bikes to cross the desert and reach the gulf. All in all, Mexico has been great to us - fantastically weird flora, good food (I tried a brain taco... mixed reviews.) and the most courteous drivers yet.

The plan from here is to ride to La Paz, at the southern end of Baja, where a ferry will take us to the mainland. One of these days we'll make it to Oaxaca, our end destination, but in the meantime we're perfectly happy to hang out on our bikes and soak in the surroundings.

Hasta luego,
Jordan y Susanita

Suzanne's pen ran out of ink so she made a hawk quill.

And so, we skipped the hummers and highways of southern California.

Ta da! What, at the border already? On to Tijuana!!!

Hola everybody!

We've made it now to Bodega Bay, CA, where we're staying with Suzanne's cousin Barton and girlfriend Lira. They have a "wicked" house near the beach with all sorts of funky things around. We're rested, fed, and ready to hit the road early tomorrow morning. Over the San Andreas fault, on to San Francisco, and down the coast.

That last post of ours got cut short by the library computer, so here's some more photos we wanted to put up. Our progress in Cali has been slowed significantly because we absolutely must take a picture of everything, so we ought to at least show you why.

Ciao ciao!

The road goes winding, winding down, losing all that hard-won elevation. Such is the coast. We deserved our beer after this one.
